Conclusion
The Dell Studio 17 was a strong performer as a entertainment desktop replacement class laptop computer. This laptop has it all a fast processor, nice screen, great speakers and a quality graphics card. The Studio 17 laptop uses a ATi Mobility Radeon 4650 graphics card which allows you to game at good resolutions.
The thing that sets the Dell Studio 17 apart from all other desktop replacements in its class is the options to customize. You have hundreds of different case designs options and you also have options for a RGB-LED backlit panel or touchscreen display. The pros of owning the Studio 17 Dell laptop computer outweigh the cons, so it's easy to recommend this laptop.
Pros:
- Good build quality - Even though the keyboard did show some flex under pressure the all around build quality is good.
- Processor performance - Our test model had a core i7 mobile processor which was fast.
- Multi-touch screen options - If you get the multi-touch screen you can use more than just one finger when operating it.
- Graphics card - The ATi Radeon 4650 performed well on most games and you will really enjoy them on the 17.3" HD screen.
- Very good speakers - JBL stereo speakers with a good subwoofer that delivered above average sound performance.
Cons:
- No high-end graphics options
- Minor keyboard flex
